My Research
Thesis Statement:
Although there have been gradual steps to women’s representation seen through the past years, it has not come fast enough. With women:

facilitate equal representation of the American population

promote legislation to advance women’s causes

provide a different perspective to fellow legislatures
-
change the views of the American society’s perception of women.

Bring more women into Congress through organizations
-
Some examples include: National Organization for Women, Name It. Change It., EMILY's List, Maggie's List, and Planned Parenthood
-
These groups help promote women and help facilitate them into gaining positions in Congress
-
Joining these groups can be largely beneficial.

Form of Party Quota.

A quota system within parties can give the necessary balance of women

The government won’t have to make any sort of constitutional changes.

In places where quotas are used (legislatively or voluntarily), there has been significant change in the composition of government.
Plan of Action:

The Equal Futures Partnership implemented by the Barack Obama

this partnership is to empower women to get involved in politics.

Obama created the White House Council for Women and Girls.

reassert the needs of women in legislation writing, program creating, and the reaffirmation of who the United States represents: everyone.
