JOURNAL #1 - GETTING STARTED

"The Town Clerk, Marianne Staples, has mentioned that she could always use help within her office, so that opportunity is always there for me. I can’t express how much I want to get election day over with."

JOURNAL #2 - FIRST 8 HOURS

"The election was a huge success. Kostas and I had worked together to arrange meetings for volunteers, to create announcements, to meet with Mrs. Staples, and so much more. We had well over twenty volunteers from all grades at Mansfield High School that helped voters find their precinct and help voters with questions or directions. I felt that the hands on experience drove me to the end of this fieldwork for the election."

Below are excerpts from journals that show my progress through my project. They indicate my successes and issues along the way.

JOURNAL #3 - 10-20 HOURS

"Many voters were not aware of which precinct they were voting in which was why we were there. There was a sense of accomplishment and duty that came with assisting voters. From what I know, all of the volunteers were having a fairly good time. I even had two volunteers puppy sit for a voting couple in the morning.'
